(Wafer Complete Feed of Vegetable Waste for Productivity Increasing of Sheep on Farm)

ABSTRAK

Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi kelemahan limbah pasar (mudah busuk, voluminus, dan ketersediaannya berfluktuasi) adalah pembuatan wafer pakan ternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sifat fisik, uji produktiitas dan efisiensi wafer pakan limbah sayuran pasar. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Wafer pakan komplit terdiri dari 5 perlakuan, yaitu R1 (100% pakan konvensional), R2 (75% pakan konvensional +25% wafer pakan komplit limbah sayuran pasar), R3 (50% pakan konvensional + 50% wafer pakan komplit limbah sayuran pasar), R4 (25% pakan konvensional + 75% wafer pakan komplit limbah sayuran pasar), R5 (100% wafer pakan komplit limbah sayuran pasar). Pakan konvensional terdiri dari rumput lapang dan dedak padi. Peubah yang diukur antara lain adalah kadar air, aktivitas air, daya serap air, kerapatan, produktivitas domba dan efisiensi usaha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Wafer pakan komplit limbah sayuran pasar mempunyai kandungan bahan kering 91,32%, kadar air 8,68%, protein kasar 20,32%, serat kasar 36,30%, lemak kasar 3,12%, Beta-N 32,26%, daya serap air 96,02%, kerapatan 0,97g/cm3, dan aktivitas air 0,81. Pemberian 100% wafer pakan komplit menghasilkan bobot badan akhir 34 kg, sedangkan domba yang diberi pakan konvensional menghasilkan bobot badan akhir 27,07 kg. Domba yang diberi 25%, 50%, 75% wafer pakan komplit memiliki bobot badan akhir 32.87 kg, 32.07 kg, 29.53 kg atau 21.43%, 18.47%, 25.6% lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan domba yang diberi pakan konvensional. Income over feed cost perlakuan 75% pakan konvensional dan 25% wafer pakan komplit lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya.

ABSTRACT

To solve the weakness of this vegetable market (waste, easy to decay, voluminous, and the availability was fluctuated) make this vegetable waste to be durable, easy to stored and easy to be given to livestock is making vegetable waste into wafer feed. The aim of this experiment was to determine the physical characteristic and vegetable waste market wafer palatability. Experimental design used Randomized block Design with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were wafer feed complete composition i.eR1 (100% of conventional feed), R2 (75% of conventional feed+ 25% of wafer complete feed, R3 (50% of conventional feed + 50% wafer complete feed), R4 (25% of conventional feed + 75% of wafer complete feed), R5 (100% of wafer complete feed). Conventional feed were field grass and rice bran. The result showed that wafer complete feed of vegetable waste had mouisture content 11.71%, water absorption 96.02, water activity 0.81, density 0.97. The results of this research indicated that the treatments had not significant effect (P>0,05) on productivity of sheep. Feeding by 100% wafer complete feedcould increase the weight gain of sheep (25,6%). Wafer feed complete had dry matter content 91.32%, moisture content 8.68%, crude protein content 20.32%, crude fiber content 36.30%, crude fat content 3.12%, Beta-N content 32.26%, water absorption value 96.02%, density 0.97g/cm3, water activity 0.81. Sheep were fed by conventional fed had final body weight 27.07 kg, meanwhile sheep were fed 100% of wafer feed complete gave 34 kg final body weight or 25.6% higher than sheep were fed by conventional fed. Sheep were fed 25%, 50%, 75% of wafer feed complete gave 32.87 kg, 32.07 kg, 29.53 kg final body weight or 21.43%, 18.47%, 25.6% higher than sheep were fed by conventional fed. Income over feed cost of sheep fed by 75% conventional feed and 25% wafer feed complete was highest than the other treatments.
