PENGARUH STRATA TAJUK HUTAN KOTA DALAM MENURUNKAN KONSENTRASI PARTIKEL TIMBAL (Pb) EMISI KENDARAAN BERMOTOR (Effects of Urban Forest Canopy Strata in Reducing Concentration of Lead (Pb) Particles Emitted by Motor Vehicles ) Rachmad Hermawan, Siti Badriyah Rushayati ABSTRAK Struktur hutan kota diduga mempengaruhi penurunan konsentrasi partikel timbal di udara. Salah satu faktor struktur hutan kota adalah strata tajuk. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (a) mengkaji pengaruh perbedaan strata tajuk hutan kota dalam menurunkan konsentrasi partikel timbal dari emisi kendaraan bermotor; (b) mengkaji pola penurunan konsentrasi partikel timbal udara ambien di sekitar hutan kota. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan strata tajuk hutan kota menyebabkan perbedaan tingkat penurunan konsentrasi partikel Pb. Plot hutan kota dengan lebih dua lapisan tajuk dan indeks luas daun (ILD) Kata kunci: Hutan kota, indeks luas daun, partikel timbal, konsentrasi, strata tajuk. ABSTRACT Structure of urban forest was assumed to have effects in reducing lead concentrations in the ambient air. One of the structure urban forest was canopy strata of urban forest. The objectives of the research were: (a) to study the effects of canopy strata differences of urban forest in reducing lead concentrations; (b) to study the decreasing pattern of Pb particle concentrations in the ambient air around the urban forest. The results showed that differences of urban forest canopy strata lead to differences of the decrease of Pb particle concentrations. Urban forest plot with more than two canopy layers and leaf area index (LAI) of 1,847 had more capability in reducing Pb particle concentrations compared to the other two plot types: (1) urban forest plot with one canopy layer and LAI of 1,113; (2) urban forest plot with more than two canopy layers and leaf area index of 1,444 (type C). There was a trend that the increasing distance of the roadside to the urban forest would decrease the level of Pb concentrations on urban forest plot with more than two canopy layers and LAI of 1,847.
